The Isle of X
This is a quick game made in 3 days based on the work of Sebastian Lague but applying some of my own ideas and customization features.
The "lore" button shows randomly generated lore which is written Madlib's style, with 380 different verbs, nouns, and adjectives combined to create a unique lore every time.
This is my first ever browser game :D
Map Parameter Meanings
Zoom - How big the map's features are
Octaves - How many levels of detail there are
Frequency (Lacunarity) - How much detail per additional octave
Persistence (Amplitude) - How much each additional octave's detail is weighted
Edge Water - How strongly a "remove land at edge" filter is applied to the map
Sea Level - How much of the map is consumed by water
Rivers* - How many rivers will be generated
Seed - Determines the position of the noise value. Changing the settings without changing the seed will generate the same map but with the settings applied.
*This feature was completely created by me, but it often fails to produce the number of rivers that the slider implies. The program is trying its best, but it may briefly freeze sometimes.
Controls
WASD or ARROW KEYS to MOVE CAMERA
LEFT-SHIFT to INCREASE SPEED
SCROLL WHEEL to ZOOM IN/OUT
R to RESET CAMERA POSITION
